Through the strong support and leadership of the Board of Supervisors, County of Los Angeles Volunteer Programs play a vital role in the enhancement of public services.  County volunteers contribute more than four million hours annually. County of Los Angeles volunteer programs operate on a decentralized basis.  Volunteer programs vary considerably in term of their size, scope, services provided, and practices throughout the County.

Animal Care and Control volunteers assist the department in it's six animal care centers, as well as off-site special community events and adoption fairs.  The mission of the Department's volunteers is consistent with the mission of the Department as a whole.  Volunteers enhance and supplement the service delivery provided by full time regular staff.

Our goal is to provide the volunteers that give of their time and care throughout the year with thank you gifts at our annual holiday event.
