Established in 1949, LCMC performs three concerts per year at the James Armstrong Theater in Torrance, California. With over 50 singers, the group's mission is to bring excellence in choral music to the South Bay and greater Los Angeles area. LCMC has appeared with other area choirs, instrumental groups, and orchestras, and has performed at Carnegie Hall and in Europe, British Columbia, and Argentina.
In addition, LCMC promotes excellence in music and community by granting three music scholarships annually to promising local music students. LCMC is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization (Tax ID# 95-2476722), operating on membership dues, ticket sales, and donations.
