In the shadow of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the towns of Round Hill and Hillsboro and the Village of Bluemont, VA, are lucky enough to have the Appalachian Trail right in our backyards—and that's why our our communities chose to become part of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy's A.T. Community program. Loudoun Appalachian Trail Association, a nonprofit formed by these three A.T. Communities, hosts the free, family-friendly Loudoun Appalachian Trail Festival as our signature event. We invite the public to learn more about the A.T., an amazing natural resource, as well as other public "green" spaces—and we demonstrate ways we can all protect them. Throughout the year, we sponsor hikes and stewardship events. We work to get people outside in nature so that they care about the future of our environment.
