Greetings Valley Fair Support Local Donation Team!

On Saturday, May 21st, 2022, Lyric Arts Company of Anoka will host our annual Cabaret, a party and benefit performance for Lyric Arts, featuring some Lyric Arts’ talented performers in an evening of music and entertainment. This special night of fun and fundraising will also be filled with drinks, desserts, games, prizes, a raffle, a wine pull, and an online silent auction.

Would you consider donating passes for our silent auction?

Over the last 25 years, Lyric Arts has become a highly respected and well-loved theater throughout the Twin Cities and beyond. Located in the heart of Historic Downtown Anoka, our stage productions, concert series, and performing arts education program have made us a destination for tens of thousands of audience members, artists, and students each year.

In a typical year, ticket sales and other earned income only bring in about 70% of the revenue we need to continue producing the high-quality work for which we have become known. So, we need to turn to the community to make up the other 30%—usually around $320,000 each fiscal year.

Your donation will help raise funds to support our theater productions, as well as our arts education program for youth. Specifically, it will help us:

·        Reinvest in the Main Street Stage: Over the past six months, in addition to repainting our bathrooms, we repaired our marquee and replaced all the lights with energy-saving LEDs. While these were some big fixes, your investment will help with many other updates throughout the building.

·        Purchase necessary supplies: Due to supply chain issues and other causes, the price of lumber and other supplies needed for productions and workshops has increased dramatically. Your donation will help us cover these increased costs.

·        Compensate our artists: When we returned from our closure, we doubled actors’ stipends from pre-pandemic levels, but it is still far below what our actors could make working at other, comparable theaters in the area. Your gift can further increase stipends for actors, in addition to increasing stipend for other artists—including teaching artists—beyond pre-pandemic levels.

Thank you for considering a donation to Lyric Arts, a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization (Tax ID: 41-1513307). If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. We appreciate your support!

Sincerely,

Valerie Underwood
