The purpose of our PTO is to support the education of children at Macungie Elementary by fostering relationships between the school, parents/caregivers and teachers. This is done by fundraising, sponsoring events and communication. With fundraising, we use the money to support the teachers and other staff. We give stipends to every teacher the beginning of the year to help with purchasing supplies for their classroom. We also have a grant program for teachers to apply to and receive funds for big ticket items. The PTO also covers all fieldtrip costs for every student, so no student is left out due to personal finances. Each year, we pick 1-2 big items we raise money for. This year our big fundraiser helped raise money for new lighting on the stage and more inclusive playground equipment ( so all children can enjoy the playground together).
