Maggie was a beloved daughter, friend, and coworker.  She was passionate about being a mother, a daughter, a friend, and a special education teacher.  She enjoyed running and working out, St. Patrick’s Day and cheering on the White Sox.  Amos had just celebrated his 3rd birthday with a Paw Patrol birthday party.  He was excited to start preschool, loved to play farm, and enjoyed caring for his pet rabbit and fish.  While their lives were unexpectedly cut short, the goodness that they shared with those around them will not end.  So far the money raised from this event over the past two years has contributed over $24,000 to efforts to strengthen and support education at all levels in our local community.  In the past year three years, The Maggie & Amos Foundation supplied local public libraries with over $3,000 of games and reading materials for children visiting the library.  We also hosted a family night where we had the Chicago Bulls Magician in support of the local library.  Approximately $9,100 has been awarded to teachers working in classrooms throughout the local area to fund special projects to encourage creative teaching for students of all ages.  Two scholarships for $2,500 each were awarded to college-level students finishing their program in special education, ready to dive into a career to help children who sometimes struggle to learn.
