When a Maine Vet transitions to a home, MHVA helps by furnishing their home. This includes purchasing a brand new bed for the veteran & providing all basic essentials. Pots, pans, bureaus, tv’s & more. All items are picked up by, transported & delivered solely by MHVA. MHVA also has 2 divisions: It Takes a Village 207 (ITAV207) & No Bowl Empty 2 Pet Food Pantry (NBE).

It Takes a Village 207: A community outreach program; Maine neighbors, helping Maine neighbors with life’s challenges. They Provide resources for families struggling with financial hardship, homelessness, food insecurity, substance abuse, domestic violence, and more. They raise Raise money for families who need things such as Home appliances, heat, home repairs, school supplies & more. They also have a large annual Christmas assistance program.
No Bowl Empty 2 Pet Food Pantry: NBE’s mission is to assist in feeding family furry friends. “Pets are not just pets, they are family members, companions, and emotional support. No one should be forced to surrender their pet because they are unable to afford pet food. Life is not always easy and tough times happen to us all. Here at No Bowl Empty Pet Food Pantry, we hope to ease the burden just a little.” NBE currently feeds over 2000 Maine Pets and is a tremendous asset to MHVA.
