The Manchester Water Works in Manchester, New Hampshire is once again sponsoring its annual 4th Grade Water Science Fair and 3rd Grade Poster Contest. This year marks our 26th year sponsoring the science fairs and the 20th year sponsoring the Poster Contest. Each year the program's success rate increases with more students and schools participating in some aspect of our program. We are accomplishing our goal of bringing drinking water awareness and conservation issues into the schools of Manchester and the surrounding areas.
Our water education program reaches out to the 14 public elementary schools in Manchester as well as a handful of private schools. The children work extremely hard on their projects and posters, and we feel they should all be rewarded. All children who participate receive certificates, and the top place winners receive either medals or trophies. In addition, we like to include prizes from local or well-known family interest destinations. That's where you come in! Last year the top winners received many great prizes for their hard work. Your generosity was greatly appreciated by both the children and our youth education staff.
Our science fairs start in a matter of weeks, but our big city-wide final takes place Saturday May 4th 2019. We are looking for donations of coupons, tickets, or gift certificates of any value appropriate for children ages 8-11. If you are able to accomodate this request, please forward your donation by Friday March 22nd 2019. If you are willing to discount admission to your facility, or offer other discounted items to us (as we are a municipality) please either mail or fax us any information that you have available as soon as possible. We would like to make these discounted purchases in a timely manner.
