Dear Eatontown School Supporter:
Margaret L. Vetter School is a public school that serves 5th and 6th graders in the community of Eatontown, NJ. The students of Margaret L. Vetter School are a diverse population striving to achieve academic goals. To that end our students participate in a year-long contest called the Battle of the Books. This competition is a voluntary reading program that encourages students to continue reading at a time when many of them have slowed their reading down considerably. The purpose is simply to inspire students to read good books and have fun while competing with peers.
Since the program is entirely voluntary, we would like to encourage the students to continue actively participating by providing some incentives to reward their success. This letter is to solicit gift items for prizes to be awarded at our school wide culmination of the contest. We would love to be able to reward each of our participating students for their success in completing The Battle of The Books.
It is important that we reach out to these kids and make a difference in their lives. Whatever you can do to assist would be greatly appreciated. If you can find it in your heart to donate a tax-deductible item for our grand finale, you will be rewarding students who have worked hard all year to achieve academic goals.
