Mass Academy is a public, co-educational school of excellence which enrolls about 100 academically
accelerated 11th and 12th graders. We emphasize math and science within a comprehensive,
interactive academic program. The rigor of the junior year classes exceeds high school honors and
advanced placement, engaging students in project-based learning and more than 1100 hours of
instruction. Seniors complete a full year of college, enrolling in classes at WPI, a nationally ranked
engineering school, thus making Mass Academy the only public school in Massachusetts whose
students attend a private university full-time as seniors in high school. Mass Academy is a
collaborative effort among the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Worcester Polytechnic Institute,
and the high schools of Massachusetts.
The Mass Academy Parents’ Support Group (PSG) is a group of parent volunteers who fundraise to  support a wide variety
of offerings for our students including transportation to competitions and national science symposia,
classroom technology, and offsets to the cost of the senior yearbook and end of year banquet.
Mass Academy students are some of the top science and math students in the Commonwealth,
representing the region in both the State and International Science and Engineering Fairs, robotics
tournaments, and many other high level academic competitions. Mass Academy students also
contribute over 5000 hours of community service each year to local schools, senior centers, and
service agencies, and through individual projects.
