Matias Rosado passed away on July 17, 2021 at the age of 19. He was a rising
sophomore at UNC Chapel Hill and had a big, beautiful life in front of him. He filled the
lives and hearts of everyone who knew him with love, happiness and laughter. He is
missed every day by his family and friends as we try to find comfort in our loved-filled
memories.
Matías suffered from depression and a sense of hopelessness. Despite the endless
love and support of his family and the care of great physicians, he could not overcome
his mental illness.
The Matías Rosado Foundation (MRF) is committed to raising awareness about the
mental health crisis among our youth through support, education, and advocacy.
