Our School Vision: Students at Mauro-Sheridan will thrive as creative thinkers, innovators and problem solvers. Our students will show empathy for others and participate actively in the community. Our students will become the creative pioneers, explorers and future leaders of the information age. Our students will accept personal responsibility for their learning and for the safety of themselves and others. Our students will express their ideas clearly, respectfully, and creatively and will value the role of science, technology and the art of communication in a 21st century world.
As a STEM-themed magnet school, a partnership between the Connecticut Science Center and Mauro-Sheridan Interdistrict Magnet School is a perfect match! Daily we educate over 500 students from Pre-K3 to 8th grade, from New Haven and surrounding suburban towns, in the themes of science, technology and communication.
The Mauro-Sheridan Interdistrict Magnet School PTO provides enrichment for its 500 students. The PTO hosts monthly family activity nights (science night, bingo, movie night, fall festival, etc), teacher appreciation week, nutrition and meal tutorials and resources, Scholastic book fair, Spirit Week, Field Day, and more! Food is often provided at events, so families can relax and enjoy the evening while bonding with classmates and engaging in quality fun. The PTO also organizes uniform and coat drives, student of the month pancake breakfasts, and school spiritwear sales. We love what we do because we love our students and our school!
