The Mayflower Chorus is the performing ensemble of the MayflowerChoral Society, a nonprofit 501c (3) organization devoted to supporting the educational and cultural benefits of musical performance for its members and the Marin County community.  This is accomplished through two concert programs yearly and community outreach performances for senior residences, skilled nuring facilities, other nonprofit organizations and other deserving groups. The Chorus also does fundraising for other small non-profits organizations in our locak community including  the Godmothers of St. Vincents School for Boys, Street Chaplanicy ( homeless organization), Seniors for Peace and One Tam to name just a few.  The Choral Society also awards annual musical scholarships in support of aspiring performers and musicians. Since its inception in 1993, the scholarship program has awarded over $45,000 to singers, composers and directors.

The Mayflower Chorus began in 1977 as a Christmas caroling group at the Mayflower Inne in San Rafael. Chorus members come from all walks of life. The primary unifying element of the group is a love of performing great music with interesting and diverse individuals. It is a community chorus in the most traditional sense of the term.

The Chorus has perfomred friendship concerts in Prague, Ireland, Portugal, Cuba and Croatia.  Music is indeed the universal language and these tours promote international understanding and mutual respect in this unsettled world.

We believe in harmony, ordinary people can do extraordinary things!
