McKendree UMC Preschool is a private preschool for 12 month old to kindergarten age children. Located in Lawrenceville, Georgia, we are proud of our week-day preschool! Voted "Best of Gwinnett" 6 years running! The mission of McKendree UMC Preschool is to help children develop their social, physical, emotional and spiritual selves in a Christian environment. We recognize the uniqueness God created in each child and are proud to be an inclusive school.
Our curriculum at McKendree is guided by the Georgia Early Learning and Developmental Standards (GELDS). This is a very detailed and comprehensive set of standards and guidelines that we use to inform our planning and teaching. We aim to be child centered and devise our schedules and activities to meet the needs of the individual child - developmentally, socially, spiritually, and culturally.
Students enhance their experiences through art, music and classroom activities. Research and experience confirm that a positive learning environment facilitates the development of each child according to their particular needs, interests and unique abilities. Therefore, our aim is to aid development by providing a background of rewarding and positive experiences. We have programs for children on various days of the week. Our programs start after Labor Day and end the week before Gwinnett County Schools. We, otherwise, follow the Gwinnett County School calendar throughout the year.
