I am reaching out on behalf of the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) at Merritt Academy, a non-profit,
independent school located in Fairfax, Virginia. With an enrollment of over 350 students, Merritt
Academy serves families with children aged infant (six weeks) through eighth grade with exceptional
year-round programming. The Merritt Academy PTO, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, supports the
school in a variety of ways, including through volunteer service, fundraising and financial contributions.
The single most successful fundraising event the PTO hosts each year is its annual auction, which has
brought in over $15,000 per auction in past years, thanks to the generosity of local businesses and
parent donations.
