MIKID (Mentally Ill Kids in Distress) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children and youth living with mental and behavioral health challenges, along with their families. Our mission is to improve the lives of Arizona families through family-driven, strengths-based services that foster hope, healing, and long-term resilience.
What makes MIKID unique is that many of our staff are parents and young adults with lived experience, providing peer support that families can truly relate to and trust. We offer a wide range of free services including educational advocacy, parenting classes, youth life skills groups, crisis navigation, and transitional support for teens entering adulthood.
MIKID serves thousands of families annually across Arizona, many of whom are facing social, emotional, and financial hardships. By walking alongside them through their journey, we help prevent hospitalizations, reduce out-of-home placements, and reunify families in crisis.
