Milestones of Development (MOD) in Vallejo is a non-profit that was established in 1985 from Jody & His Friends. It currently serves 56 adults with developmental disabilities supported by a staffing team of about 70 members. MOD has 4 long-term care homes that each has capacity for up to 6 residents. The homes are Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF/DD-H) which is a medical model community living situation. MOD also has a day program with a capacity for up to 116 participants. The number of participants has decreased since COVID emerged, but since the start of 2023 the request for services has increased. Transportation services is also provided by MOD for its residents and day program participants, as the organization has a small fleet of vans. Daily supports provided by staff include community engagement and assistance with activities of daily living. Some of the people supported and staff have long histories with the organation at 20+ years, reflecting trusting, meaningful relationships developed over time.
