There is no greater privilege then to be able to honor those who have served and made the ultimate sacrifice for our  country. It is with deep respect that I reach out to you on behalf of the Mira Mesa High School Marching Band and  Color Guard with the request of your support. The Sapphire Sound has been invited to represent California in the Pearl  Harbor Memorial Day Parade on December 7, 2024, in Honolulu, Hawaii.

The Marching Band and Color Guard is a state-level and award-winning program that directly benefits hundreds of  students, and our entire community of San Diego, each year. Over 200 students participate in this dynamic music  program on an annual basis. The band program is completely self-supporting, so the non-profit Mira Mesa Instrumental  Music Boosters was formed to support this tremendous group of students and to ensure that every student who wishes to  be a part of the program is able to participate. The Mira Mesa Instrumental Music Boosters is a registered non-profit  501(c)(3) charitable organization (Tax ID # 95-349213).

The all-volunteer Mira Mesa Instrumental Music Boosters (MMIMB), with your help, will continue to work hard to  ensure that no student will be denied the opportunity to travel as a representative of our community on this historic trip.  Your support will help guarantee the enhancement of students’ academic experience with an educational and  enlightening opportunity.

We are asking for your support in the form of a sponsorship (please see below). Your monetary donation will allow you  to support our students in their travel to participate in three performances surrounding the recognition of Pearl Harbor.  The students of the Mira Mesa HS Marching Band and Color Guard will perform at the U.S.S. Missouri, perform with  the military band in the opening ceremony, and march in the Pearl Harbor Memorial Day Parade on December 7th.  There is a tremendous amount of pride, opportunity to experience history in person, and pay respect to those who have  given so much to all of us in the United States.

Mira Mesa is the largest community in San Diego with approximately 80,000 residents. We are proud to be a California  Distinguished School. The students in our program are talented and extremely hardworking young people. We hope you  will consider giving your support to this event.
