The Mission Bay Music Program has grown to serve over 200 students under the direction of MBHS graduate and music director Jean-Paul Balmat. The program started as three classes and now hosts seven different ensembles including a concert band, two choirs, two orchestras, and two jazz ensembles. The school’s top performance ensembles, the Symphony Orchestra, Mambo Orchestra, Swing Choir and Preservationists, are award-winning and known internationally. Our program honors the rich tradition of music in our community. As a Title I school, we are proud to provide equitable access to music for all our students.
