Missouri Humanities is dedicated to enriching lives and strengthening communities by connecting Missourians with the people, places, and ideas that shape our society. Through our six core programs and yearly Signature Series, we reach over 155,000 Missourians annually, offering hundreds of educational opportunities for little or no charge by providing the following:

  • Grants and resources for local community and cultural organizations providing meaningful humanities-based programs and projects.
  • Educational programs for Missourians of all ages, in every corner of the state, to engage in life-long learning and connect to the humanities through lectures, literature, traveling exhibits, and special events.
  • Promotion of Missouri's rich cultural heritage and historical significance with Cultural Heritage Workshops, scholarly symposiums, educational podcasts, and more.
  • Engaging n community discussions and interactive Q&As about important topics and issues facing our community,
  • Entertaining and educational speakers through the Missouri Speakers' Bureau.
  • Support veterans and their families by offering an outlet for self-expression through writing workshops, readings, a podcast, and an annual anthology of veteran works titled, Proud to Be.
