Around this time in 2016 my son Mithil was trapped in his own body. He was cognitively alert but could not talk, walk, swallow or have any control over his body. A month later he lost his battle to the deadliest pediatric brain cancer called DIPG (Diffused Intrinsic pontine Glioma). Mithil was 13 years old. He deserved to live his full life and so does around 400 kids that lose their life to this horrible disease every year in US (alone) and around 10,000 worldwide.

I would have said there has not been much progress made since astronaut Neil Armstrong lost his daughter about 60+ years back. But I am hopeful after my recent visit to Curefest for childhood cancer events at Washington DC. There are significant push in pediatric cancer on legislation front and medical research. But what was very clear is that researchers need continued philanthropic support to make faster progress on the initiatives.

Mithil Prasad Foundation has been supporting DIPG research and patients since 2018. We have raised close to half a million dollars since then. One of our big fundraising avenues is our annual fundraising gala held in December every year. There were only two things that mattered to Mithil the most - food and people. So in true Mithil's way we have our fundraising gala during his birth month to honor his life and support the research of the very disease that took his life.

Your generous support enables the funds raised during the event to go directly towards DIPG research.

On behalf of the board at MPF, thank you very much for your time and hope you will consider our foundation for your year end philanthropic support.
