The Brainerd Lakes Area Women of Today are a small not for profit organization in the Brainerd Lakes Area. We are made up of about 20 women, ages 20 something to 60 something. We meet once a month at 6:30 at The American Legion in Brainerd. Annual Dues are $55.00 as not to break the bank.
Some of the fundraisers we do annually as a group are Happy Hour With a Purpose Fundraiser (this year to raise money for Pohl Children’s Foundation and CRMC’s Courage Cabinet, ECFE Easter Party (to raise money for scholarships to ECFE), Flock Your Friends Flamingo Fundraiser (to raise money for HART and Ruff Start Rescue) and we sell concessions at The Great Pumpkin Festival (to raise money for our local youth). We also donate/deliver Thanksgiving baskets and donate/deliver gifts to Seniors. We sell butter braids, pizzas, raffle tickets and have Tastefully Simple fundraisers. We donate money to local families in need and support local organizations with donations and volunteering.
Besides donating our time and efforts, we have “M” Nights or Socials in which we invite potential members or friends to join us for a day/evening of fun, we try to do these once a trimester. We participate in self-enrichment projects and help support the women on our group. Our mottos is, “Having Fun, Making a Difference in Our Community”
