The mission of the PTA is to support our renowned elementary school in achieving its goal of
educating and inspiring each of its 600+ students. Mockingbird Elementary, a Dallas ISD public school,
serves as the Dallas Regional Day School for the Deaf. The students and teachers that make up the
deaf-ed program are an integral part of the Mockingbird community. Deaf children ages Kindergarten
through 5th grade come to Mockingbird from all areas of the surrounding community. In addition to
this special program, Mockingbird also has a dual language program offering Spanish/English
instruction, and an innovative on-campus garden, which provides our students with a hands-on life
science education. What’s more, Mockingbird is among the highest-ranking schools in the district,
receiving numerous awards and recognition.
