Mychal's Learning Place believes individuals with disabilities deserve to live an independent and fulfilling life. Every day we teach, prepare, and steward our students because nobody should have their goals and opportunities limited simply because they have a disability.
We offer programs that teach life skills to individuals with developmental disabilities. This includes an After School Program and path to Independence Adult Program. We also started two social enterprises, Mychal's Bakery & Coffee and Mychal's Print & Embroidery, that provide our students with job training and employement opportunities.
Mychal's Bakery & Coffee is a mobile cafe and catering service where all bakers and baristas are young adults with developmental disabilities, demonstrating that they are talented and able contributors to our community. Recently, we opened The Café by Mychal's Bakery & Coffee pop-up shop located in the Torrance Memorial Specialty Center.
Mychal's Print & Embroidery is a digital print social enterprise providing crucial employment opportunities for young people with developmental disabilities.
