NAMI Queens/Nassau is dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness through support, education, and advocacy. As an affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), they strive to raise awareness and provide essential resources to the Queens and Nassau County communities. AMI Queens/Nassau's mission is to improve the lives of all those affected by mental illness through support, education, and advocacy, while raising awareness and hope within the community.
Vision: They envision a world where all individuals affected by mental illness live healthy, fulfilling lives supported by a caring community.
Core Values:
Embracing Lived Experience: Incorporating personal experiences to guide their programs and services.
Ensuring Accessibility: Providing free support groups, educational classes, and resources to the community.
Support Groups: Including Partner/Spouse Support, Co-Occurring Caregiver Support, Black & Brown Caregiver Support, Whole Family Support, Sibling Support, Suicide Support, Suicide Bereavement, Families Surviving Suicide Loss, Peer Support, and Caregiver of Older Adults with Mental Health Conditions. Educational Classes: Such as Family-to-Family, Basics, Ending the Silence, Peer-to-Peer, and Monthly Educational Meetings.

Community Outreach: Programs like UNITES peer socialization, Sharing Hope outreach to underserved communities, Homefront Veteran Support, FaithNet Presentations, and On Campus Clubs.
