About Napa Valley Education Foundation

Our Impact - We believe NVUSD provides an excellent education for students in our community.  Every day, we support their work by providing critical extra programs students need to perform their best.  We want all our students to graduate from high school ready for college or a successful career.

Napa Valley Education Foundation mobilizes community support to inspire children to achieve their educational potential. We do this by providing programs, raising funds, and uniting the community in support of educational excellence.  Each year, we raise $500,000 to fund critical gaps in public funding for education. We believe an investment in education is an investment in our future!

Mission- Our mission is to support the healthy development of all students in the Napa Valley Unified School District by enriching school programs and fostering community support of educational excellence.  We focus in three program areas:  College & Career Readiness, Health & Wellness, and Music & Arts.

Primary Goals

The Napa Valley Education Foundation fulfills its mission by:

  1. Serving as a catalyst and resource to effectively support school district needs.
  2. Encouraging private giving for public good.
  3. Acting as a nonprofit leader in the area of youth, arts, wellness and education.

Our Program Areas

  • Music & Arts: We believe music and arts are an integral part of the school day.  Our goal is to provide all students with access to arts and music education.  The Foundation houses the Music Connection, a program dedicated to connecting students and music, and is a partner in the NVUSD Arts Education Master Plan.  We want all students to have equitable music and arts education.
  • Health & Wellness: We believe student wellness helps reduce barriers to learning and assists students as they grow into productive adults.  The Foundation contributes to promoting the mental and physical wellness of NVUSD students by being an integral part of the NVUSD Wellness Center Initiative and a major benefactor of NVUSD Physical Education programs.
  • College & Career Readiness: We believe every student can graduate with the knowledge and skills they need to advance to a college or a meaningful career. The Foundation provides a steady stream of teacher grants and classroom support to NVUSD schools, encouraging innovation and student engagement.  We also help fund career exploration and internships, and important programs that encourage academic success such as AVID and the Legacy Youth Project.

Our Service Area

The Napa Valley Unified School District has thirty schools and an enrollment of 18,000 students across the cities of Yountville, Napa and American Canyon.  NVUSD is the largest district in Napa County, serving approximately 87% of all students in the county.   The district strives to provide a rich academic experience that includes critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity.  The Napa Valley Education Foundation supports teachers, students and the district to ensure all students are engaged and prepared for success in college, career and life.
