The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) is the largest professional organization of social workers in the world. NASW works to enhance the professional growth and development of its members, to create and maintain professional standards for social workers, and to advance sound social policies.
The New York State Chapter is the second largest in the United States and is divided into divisions. The Western Division serves the eight counties of Western New York, Alleghany, Cattaragus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Orleans, Niagara, and Wyoming.
The state chapter and local divisions create and sponsor continuing education opportunities to help ensure that social workers are up-to-date on knowledge and evidence-based practices in order to competently serve clients.
