The National Mexican American College Education Fund, Inc., was organized in 1969 with the purpose of assisting Tarrant County students to obtain a higher education with a college degree. It was intended to assist Hispanic and Latino students to afford to pay for a college degree. It is currently available for all ethnicities and nationalities. It is still intended for local area high school students in the Fort Worth / Tarrant County area. Funds are raised by donations from local members of the business community as well as private individuals. The MACE organization is made up of volunteers. Many of whom have been previous recipients themselves.
