Nest Academy RVA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating social and learning opportunities for teens and young adults with complex physical and intellectual disabilities - a population that is not served in traditional programs due to their complex disabilities that entail high personal and medical care needs. Our target population for academic year programs includes high school graduates who are typically non-verbal, use wheelchairs and who require 1:1 assistance and adaptive environments to engage in the community. Nest's Summer Passport program serves teens as young as 15 years old.
The only organization of its kind in central Virginia, Nest is filling an unmet need by providing a specialized learning environment with both in-center and in-community learning and social activities to foster an inclusive community and the continued emotional, social, and educational growth of each participant.
