What is NF?
NF is a disorder that makes tumors grow uncontrollably throughout the body during a patient’s entire life. It has a variable prognosis depending on the location, size and type of tumors that develop. Many people with NF struggle with disfigurement, learning disabilities, social isolation, and poor motor control. Although 1 in 3,000 people has NF, there is no cure and little treatment.
What is Neurofibromatosis Northeast (NF Northeast)?
NF Northeast is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization, that funds scientific research, provides direct support to families, and lobbies for federal research funds. The organization serves families across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, Maine, Connecticut & New York.
The Mission of NF Northeast is to find a treatment and the cure for neurofibromatosis by promoting scientific research, creating awareness, and supporting those who are affected by NF. We are a prominent voice on Capitol Hill, and as a direct result of our advocacy the United States Congress has appropriated over $500 million for federally funded NF research since 1996. Locally, we have awarded over $3 million to NF clinicians and scientists who are dedicated to treating NF patients. We are also dedicated to making neurofibromatosis a household word and have recently launched a comprehensive public awareness campaign #TheWordIS NFNE raises 70% of our funds at events, we receive no direct government support. We rely on corporations, foundations, and individuals.
The event:
On May 6th, 150 people will gather at Wright-Locke Farm in Winchester, MA to raise funds for NF Northeast while watching the Kentucky Derby. The event will include cocktails, bbq, horse wagering, a raffle and auction. With your help, we seek to raise $30,000.

Please consider donating a pack of tickets to 5-Wits that can be used in our raffle. The money raised will help fund research and provide direct support to afflicted families. We will recognize your contribution in event materials, announcements and social media.
