The Nevada Action Coalition is part of the Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action, a nationwide movement to improve health and health care through nursing. An initiative of AARP and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Campaign includes Action Coalitions in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Action Coalitions are the driving force of the Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action at the local and state levels, forming a strong, connected grassroots network of diverse stakeholders to transform healthcare through nursing. The Nevada Action Coalition (NAC) is a group comprised of health care organizations, business partners, state delegates, universities, colleges, and community-based organizations.
Our mission:
To champion through strategic collaboration, access to high quality health care for all Nevadans where nurses contribute as essential partners.
Our goals:
• To introduce and prepare Nevada youth to choose healthcare as a career
• To increase the ethnic and cultural diversity of Nevada’s healthcare workforce
• To encourage registered nurses to advance their education
• To provide an internship for every new nurse graduate
