New Beginnings Therapeutic Riding Foundation provides therapeutic horseback riding and other equine-assisted therapies to adults and children dealing with physical, cognitive and social-emotional challenges. We aim to empower individuals with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, including active miltary and veterans as well as front-ling first responders who have endured service-related injuries or mental health issues in a supportive, inclusive environment.
We work closely with the Chicago Mounted Police Unit who often donate retired equine officers to become therapy horses in our program. We currently have two retired equine officers as part of our Hero Herd.
