New Directions Youth and Family Services is a non-profit organization serving more than 3,000 youth and families annually across the eight counties of Western New York. We empower children and families experiencing emotional, educational, and/or social challenges. Our dedicated staff manage a continuum of care including residential, educational, foster-care, mental health, and community-based services. New Directions’ mission is to foster resilient, self-reliant families and permanence for at-risk children in the shortest time possible, by promoting safe, respectful, responsible, and goal-directed behavior.We work from a trauma-informed, strengths-based perspective to ensure children's safety physically and emotionally.
With more than 20 programs nationally recognized by the Council on Accreditation and a broad array of resources, we match children and families with appropriate care that capitalizes on strengths to establish effective relationships, build character, and develop skills necessary for life.
New Directions'heritage dates back 150 years with a proven record of responding to the ever-changing needs of the communities we serve. New Directions is an agency skilled at delivering impactful services to children and famillies across Western New York, with main offices in Randolph (Cattaraugus County), Amherst (Erie County), and Lockport (Niagara County).
