History and Programs Overview: New Horizons Living Centers (NHLC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was founded in 2006. Originally focused on helping Veterans and those struggling with substance use, the organization has grown and is now currently run by a team of licensed clinicians who are dedicated to serving a culturally, socially and financially diverse population of men, women, children and families with various disabilities and needs. NHLC focuses on the whole person and whole environment which is why the organization often starts by providing basic needs including housing for those struggling to make it on their own. Our goal is to provide wrap-around services to the whole person thereby empowering these individuals to utilize resources and become active members of the community. NHLC Sober Living Program was designed to empower individuals in transition. Clients are placed in one of our healthy and sober living houses for a minimum of six-months, with the possibility of renewal at the end of every six months pending progress and need. Each house has an on-site 24/hour house manager that can help clients connect to local resources and hold them accountable to the house rules. NHLC Treatment Center offers clinical services including but not limited to individual, family and group counseling. Our providers also offer Medication Assisted Therapies (MAT) and medication management.

In 2022, NHLC opened a huge food and clothing pantry.  New Horizons truly believes all recovery is possible and all stigma can be erased through education.
