New Life Ministries is a nonprofit located in Indiana. We are dedicated to serving those in need of food, shelter, and a purposed-filled life through our Meal Ministry, Women's Life Houses, and Men's Life House.
In 2007, we opened our first ministry, the Meal Ministry (soup kitchen). 365 days a year, we open our doors to serve any individual a free, warm dinner. There is no prerequisite to receiving a meal. Any individual is welcome to walk in the door, find a seat, and be served a meal. This ministry is run completely by volunteers throughout the community and through donations from those who share the same desire as we do in helping people in need of food.
In 2012, we expanded with the opening of our Women's Life House - Step Up House. The Women's Life House is a transitional home designed for women looking to make positive changes in their lives. This home serves women from all walks of life, such as homeless, probation, addiction, abuse, and more. This program provides women with a free place to stay and basic necessities as they work to make these changes. Women at this home are expected to get and maintain a job, save money, pay off debts, attend classes on life skills, and attend church. Our hope is that women leave the program living a more successful life.
In 2019, we added the Women's Life House - Fresh Start House. This was formerly the Women with Children home but adjustments were made to best serve those in need. At the Women's Life House - Fresh Start House, women who have finished the Step Up House program are given the opportunity to extend their stay with us. By moving to this house, they are given more freedom but also more responsibility. These women still must hold up to the program expectations of maintaining employment, saving money, and attending classes, but they are also able to begin taking responsibility for more tasks to become more confident prior to moving out on their own. This home also allows these women to have their children stay with them on weekends as they work to mend those relationships. It is a blessing and gives women a larger chance of being successful once they leave the program.
In 2022, we began our newest ministry. We were able to open the Men's Life House at the start of 2022. This home operates in a similar capacity as the Women's Life House but serves men from many walks of life like homelessness, addiction, abuse, probation, and more. Men have the same requirements as the women and again, our desire is to help these men make changes in their lives and leave living a successful life.
We have more pieces of our vision yet to unfold, but the goal is always the same. Our goal will always be to help people in need.
