Niagara Dog Rescue is a registered charity dedicated to helping abandoned and unwanted dogs find a new home. We focus on dogs at immediate risk of being euthanized in high kill shelters. We are a 100% volunteer-based organization, operating throughout Southern Ontario since 2015.

We have approximately 150 volunteers in Canada and in the United States. Those in the US go to high kill shelters, rescue the dogs and keep them until they can be transferred to Ontario. Some volunteers have 15 dogs in their homes at one time.  In Ontario, we have more fosters that keep the dogs until they can be adopted. We also travel to other the northern provinces where dogs are at risk of starvation or freezing in the winter and transfer them to Ontario. The volunteers pay their own expenses on these trips.

We have volunteers in many roles - some organize the dogs, some organize the adopters, some organize fundraisers. As a not-for-profit registered charity, we operate on fundraising and donations as well as the adoption fees.
