The Northampton Area Public Library is the point of access for information, self-enrichment, leisure, and social connections within the Northampton Area School District for visitors of all ages. This is accomplished through providing materials to borrow (including books, audio recordings, board games, DVDs, magazines, and Wi-Fi hotspts), technology to utilize (including public computers and free in house Wi-Fi), and programs to attend for all age groups on a variety of topics such as literacy, STEAM, crafting, and history. The library also serves as a safe space, a location for patrons of all walks of life to meet and connect, from those looking for a quiet place to study to kids looking for a place to go after school.

The Northampton Area Public Library Board of Trustees is entrusted with governing the
Northampton Area Public Library. Board of Trustees’ candidates must first submit a letter of
interest to the Northampton Area School District. Candidates must first be approved by the
Library Board of Trustees. Then they also must be approved by the Northampton Area School District Board. Once approved by both governing bodies, the candidate then becomes a Board of Trustees member and may hold an office.
