Northeast PTO provides additional support to the staff and students at Northeast Elementary through various fundraisers and special events.
We are raising funds help fund projects for the children, teachers, and staff. This year we are raising funds to help with the mental health of our students as well as fund literacy. For the mental health aspect, we are providing the funds to purchase comfortable furniture to be placed at the end of each grades hallway so if the students need to take a break from class, they have a comfortable, safe space to go. Another part of the mental health aspect is to continue improving our mobile sensory carts. These are used throughout the school to help teachers with their lessons, give kids a mental break during their day if they need it, as well as help with indoor recess. Items on the carts include fidget toys, the Floor is Lava spaces, and a carpet that has them doing different activities to name a few items. The literacy part of our funding is going to the teachers to help replace and add books to classroom libraries. While our school has a library the kids have more interaction with their classroom libraries so adding them will help introduce more books and words to the students.
