Northeastern Illinois University's foundation raises money for higher education scholarships for students that need assistance to complete their education. Many of the NEIU students are the first in their family to get their university education. These scholarships allow students to graduate with the least amount of debt possible so they can start their professional future. To date, the Foundation offers nearly 100 scholarships for NEIU students.
In addition to raising funds for student scholarships, the foundation raises monies to make university improvements for students, faculty and staff.
Finally, for the fourth year in a row, Northeastern is ranked No. 1 among all Midwest colleges and universities as the most diverse by The Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education College Ranking.
