The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to serve others by instilling values in young people to prepare them to make ethical choices over their lifetimes. We aim to help youth achieve their full potential, regardless of social, economic, or ethnic background. Your in-kind donation helps us to achieve this goal of serving youths in our community.

All Scouting programs are delivered through the below levels:

Lions, kindergarten, introduces children and families to the fun of Scouting.
Tiger Cubs, first grade, teaches skills in partnership with an adult family member.
Cub Scouting, grades 2 - 5 is a family and neighborhood centered program.
Scouts BSA, grades 6-12, develops self-confidence and leadership skills through outdoors activities, a challenging advancement program, and by introducing youth to more than 100 hobby and career interests.
Venturing, for youth in high school, provides vigorous outdoor recreational activities and peer leadership opportunities.
Exploring provides school-to-work opportunities with classroom-based programs for all students ages 10 to 20.
Scoutreach focuses attention to the special challenges confronting youngsters in Northern New Jersey’s largest cities.

We also emphasize the importance of STEM activities which are weaved into every program level and give youth the opportunity to discover their love of science, technology, engineering and math, earn awards and advance through the program levels.

We deliver our programs through trained volunteers, community partners and with the support of corporations, organizations and foundations. Our Council serves a diverse membership of more than 8,000 young people in hundreds of cities and towns in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, and Passaic counties with more than 3,000 adult volunteer leaders and 300 Scout units. Scouting is well-known for our outdoor and recreational activities; however, our comprehensive Merit Badge program provides young people with opportunities and incentives to explore any area of interest including financial literacy, technical trades, civic engagement, healthcare and more.
