Our mission is to enable older adults to thrive as they age in our community by offering a robust network of resources and opportunities. We harness the time, talents and experience of volunteers to provide a diverse basket of services and programs to our members. Members request services and we match volunteers to provide what they need. In addition we offer an array of health, social and educational programs to keep people engaged and active.
NNV is neighbors giving neighbors confidence and help to remain socially engaged in their homes and neighborhoods NNV is a centrally-coordinated, local network of screened volunteers and vetted professional providers. We serve seniors in Wards 3 and 4 in DC. We are the largest geographic"village" in the DC area.
Northwest Neighbors Village offers its members:
Transportation to medical appointments
Grocery shopping assistance
Home repairs and handyman help
Computer and technology assistance
Access to social and cultural activities
Our mission is a generous, supportive community where all older adults are valued, age with dignity, and enjoy opportunities for growth and engagement. We are the community's aging resource and have won multiple awards during covid for our innovation, communication, and being on the front line.
