As Kentucky and Southern Indiana’s ONLY full-service, free-standing pediatric hospital, Norton Children’s Hospital, along with its predecessor hospitals, have cared for children for more than a century without regard to their families’ ability to pay.  Specialists offer comprehensive pediatric care, including a full range of services for congenital and acquired heart disease, cancer care, neurosciences, spine and orthopedic care, and neonatal care.  As regional facilities that care for more than 215,000 children each year, Norton Children’s rely on support from the community through the Norton Children’s Hospital Foundation.

The Norton Children’s Hospital Foundation is the philanthropic arm for Norton Children’s pediatric facilities and services. The foundation raises funds to support programs, equipment, new technologies, clinical research, child advocacy and health education for patients, families, medical staff and the community.

Some of our most recent work includes funding of the following areas for Norton Children’s Hospital and its facilities:

·       Food pantries at 23 locations, serving over 17,000 families annually in need of food security.

·       Heel Dog Heal program, which provides highly trained dogs and handlers to give comfort and support to patients and families during their time of need.

·       Norton Children’s Autism Center, including the parent resource library and supplies for patients.

·       Pediatric community health safety van servicing underserved neighborhoods

·       Transport isolette for “Just for Kids” Transport Team ambulance

·       Neonatal Resuscitation Program training equipment for the neonatal intensive care unit

We rely on the generosity of the community and corporate partners to support the types of improved technology, facilities and programs mentioned above, plus much, much more. Reimbursement from insurance may cover the cost of providing care, but it does not cover the purchase of new equipment; hospital upgrades; or services for families, such as art and music therapy and the facility dog program. With your help, we can continue to give everyone the lifesaving care they need and make all members of our community healthier.
