Open Door Service Center, Inc. is a non-profit in Sedalia, MO. We have three locations, the Pantry/Service Center, Open Door Kitchen, and our Thrift Shop. Our Kitchen serves a hot meal to those in need 7 days a week, averaging about 80-130 meals a day. Our Pantry provides food boxes once a month to around 2000-3300 individuals and families a month. Our service center helps with emergency vouchers for utility and water shut-offs, medical expenses, work clothing, gas vouchers to get to medical appointments, car repairs, rent, or vouchers for shoes and clothing to our thrift shop. We are a case by case facility, so we encourage anyone in need to come see our case manager. The service center helps anywhere from 450-510 individuals a month. We have several programs that we oversee. Our Go with The Flow program provides school age women and teens access to menustration products. Our Partners With Purpose program provides bags of shelf stable food, hygiene products, and community resources to our first repsonders to give out when they come across a homeless individual, domestic violence victim, or house fire victim. Our Birthday Bag program provides any child turning 1-18 with a bag that has a cake mix, icing, candles, pan, and age appropriate gift for their birthday. Our VA Box program provides Military Veterans a box of shelf stable food and hygiene products every month. Our Senior Box program provides senior citizens ages 60 and up with a box of shelf stable food and hygiene products every month. We are fighting hunger in Pettis County every month. Our Thrift Store operates on donations only and provides us with 45% of our overall operating budget a year.
