Open My World Therapeutic Riding Center is a non-profit organization founded in 2008 by Donna Roland, who developed a life changing program stemming from her experience as a Special Education teacher and her love for horses. Open My World is proud to continue Donna’s legacy by serving the members of our community the benefits of therapeutic horseback riding and activities.
Our programs are designed to help individuals with a variety of physical, emotional, and cognitive disabilities. Some of the therapeutic benefits of horseback riding can include improved balance, coordination, and core strength, as well as increased confidence, self-esteem, and a sense of empowerment.
Our PATH Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructors work with participants to develop individualized lesson plans that are tailored to their specific needs and goals. The lessons include a variety of activities, such as riding, grooming, and caring for the horses, which can help participants build important life skills and develop a deeper connection with the animals and the world around them.
