Original Design is a year long mentoring program in Columbia, SC that I founded a year and half ago. My passion for helping kids partnered with my love for sports were the driving factors for starting Original Design. Our first year of programming was in 2021 and will continue to keep going in the years to come. Each year we select 25 underserved Children between 10-12 years old and they are committed to our programming for a year. They each have a 1-1 mentor that is journeying with them. This is completely free for the campers. In our year long program, we have three overnight camps where we stay at a local hotel in Columbia as well as experiencing many different activities in the city. These three camps are the main events for our non-profit. We teach the campers skills relating to public health, sports, and faith along with other life skills like nutrition, hygiene, budgeting and more. This model is important to me because my goal is to build sustainable relationships for these campers and not just a fun event. On the other months that we do not have an overnight camp, we have events. The vision behind that is that we have at least one touch point for the campers and the mentors per month. We are closing in on our first year of programing and getting ready for our 2nd year this January. This donation of in kind tickets would be amazing for our donor banquet to rasie money for our programming
