ODBF was established to focus on philanthropic efforts in the local community. Its mission is to help build, strengthen and enhance community life in Ottawa by raising, managing and distributing funds to charitable organizations. Our fundraising efforts primarily take place in the National Capital Region in support of registered charities within the Ottawa area.
The amount of money raised from successful fundraising will go to support several local charities including Bruyère Health Foundation, Matthew House, Children's Aid Foundation, Youth Services Bureau, and Tim Hortons Foundation Camps.
Fundraising has been a part of the Tim Hortons Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival for over 30 years. To-date $5.7 million has been raised in support of 80 local charities. Ongoing support from participants and members of the general public, in addition to the funds raised through our renowned silent auction, will help us to continue our tradition of giving back to our community.
It is our mission to deliver North America's premiere Dragon Boat Festival. Offering visitors to and residents of Canada's Capital Region the opportunity to participate and engage in, the arts, sports, cultural, heritage and volunteer activities, significantly contributing to the tourism, economic growth, community engagement and cultural fabric of our diverse community. Our event is a major draw in the National Capital Region. It is a non-profit festival with free admission to the public.
