Everyone knows someone who has been affected with Memory Loss and this is a way to give back.  We are trying to become one of the first Dementia Friendly Communities in North Carolina.  We have the First Dementia Friendly Hospital and over twenty Dementia Friendly restaurants and businesses.  Look for our proudly displayed Purple Seahorse designation.  Our support groups are a vital part of our community providing comfort, encouragement, and care for loved ones when there is no cure.  Dementia is on the rise. 

The Dementia Friendly Coalition mission is to build a Dementia Friendly Community through collaborative partnerships that will raise awareness, provide education and encourage community engagement that will ultimately enhance the quality of life for everyone.  The Coalition has launched numerous activities in the community to decrease stigma and reduce isolation.
