PATH is one of the most impactful nonprofits in California committed to ending
homelessness for individuals, families, and communities. PATH provides housing and
homeless services to 25,000 individuals in over 150 cities across the state with 60 service
locations. It is our core belief that no person should live on the streets and that everyone
deserves an affordable, stable place to call home.

PATH has 40 years’ experience in providing homeless services, building and managing
affordable and supportive housing communities, and operating emergency shelter sites in
regions across California including the counties of Santa Clara, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles,
Orange and San Diego.

In 2022, PATH served 16% of California’s population experiencing homelessness. In 2021,
PATH served over 25,000 people and helped over 1,900 people make it home.
In full recognition that homes end homelessness, in 2007, PATH founded PATH Ventures,
our real estate development arm, which has 2,500 units of supportive housing built or in
development. PATH Ventures builds affordable homes and communities in a variety of
ways, including ground-up construction, modular construction, rehabilitation of hotels and
motels through Project Homekey, and conversions of interim housing to permanent
supportive housing.

PATH takes an integrated and participant centered service approach, focused on
empowerment, skill building, community integration, wellness and recovery.

PATH works to end homelessness and build communities by focusing on three objectives:
Housing, Supportive Services and Community Engagement.

• Housing: PATH develops and links participants to a full range of housing for
homeless and formerly homeless individuals and families, including low-barrier
housing (both interim and permanent supportive housing), recuperative care for
individuals with significant health issues, transitional housing for families and youth
and rapid re-housing programs.

• Supportive Services: PATH does whatever it takes to assist people experiencing
homelessness by offering a number of wraparound programs and services
designed to help them move into – and stay in – permanent housing. These services
include:

o Intensive Case Management Services: Provides services and assertive
community treatment for chronically homeless individuals with serious
mental health challenges and co-occurring disorders.
o Housing Navigation Services: Helps individuals and families access all the
services and resources they need to successfully end their homelessness
and maintain stable housing for the long term.
o Employment Assistance: Helps those participants who are able to work in
becoming job-ready and securing living wage employment. Our
Employment Associates assist participants with developing resumes,
improving their interview techniques, and learning other “soft skills” that
are critical for success in the workforce.

• Community Engagement: PATH’s Street Outreach program takes a collaborative,
community-centered approach that involves working closely, and in partnerships,
with other service providers, neighborhood groups, law enforcement, and hospitals
to develop strategies to assist even the hardest to reach individuals.
