The mission of Pathways Adult Learning Center is to provide a unique Christian program dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for adults with intellectual disabilities. Pathways' vision is to assist each individual to achieve emotional, cognitive, physical, social and spiritual growth to his or her fullest potential.
Pathways helps to foster a sense of belonging for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in our community and to create a future for these students to flourish by providing continuing education, life skills training, volunteerism in the community, health and fitness activities, and an opportunity to grow in and practice their faith. Pathways believes that adults with I/DD should be known not for their perceived deficits, but for their strengths, gifts, unique perspective and their humanity.
Pathways currently serves 90 students full time, year-round. We have experienced a 30% growth in enrollment in 2022. We serve families from all socio-economic backgrounds and provide tuition assistance to families in need. We have 6 full time and 5 part time teachers and 67 volunteers, including mentors and classroom volunteers.
At Pathways, we help enhance the quality of life for adults with I/DD. Our goals are:
- to help them learn and develop skills to become more confident and independent.
- to cultivate their interests and work toward their own life goals and aspirations
- to work toward more meaningful inclusion of adults with I/DD in our community
- to promote health and welness, and
- provide much-needed respite for their families and caregivers.
