Pathways, Inc. provides housing, education, health services and other support for adults with severe and prolonged mental illness to further recovery, growth and more meaningful lives.

The agency was founded in 1981 by Greenwich families in response to the needs of relatives and others who were discharged from psychiatric hospitals following long periods of institutionalization and were often homeless or living in substandard dwellings.  The agency’s first home was purchased with private money raised by its founders and opened its doors in 1983.  Today, the agency has 4 residences that provide care for 38 clients with varying levels of care.  The agency also serves adults who live at home with family providing case management and referral services, supportive counseling and skills building.  Additionally, Pathways provides a psychosocial day program to build and encourage independent living, which includes educational and vocational activities and a free breakfast and lunch program.
